We have begun the flexible groupings for what makes... Please ask your child which group they are working in. If it is what makes a hundred, they need 2 dice (see the first example). If they were successful on this formative quiz, they are now working on what makes __00. They need 4 dice for this (see the second example). They must roll the 2 hundreds dice first and the largest one goes on the line in front of 00. The progression is.... (just examples)
200 + ___ = 800
230 + ____= 800
234 + ____= 800
They should complete the page once using only hundreds, then the second time with hundreds and tens and the third time with hundreds, tens and ones. :)

Examples of how to do Ce qui fait...
- the students began working what makes 100 today. They brought home 2 dice in order to work this concept and a sheet in a plastic sleeve. They will roll the dice and write that number on the line. They then use another sheet of paper to work out the problem on a number sheet. Check it out!
- ____ + _____ = 100 the number rolled goes on the left hand side of the number line and 100 at the right hand side of the line. the number rolled (ex:47) is where we start, Riverview. We jump into the car but oh no! We ran out of gas in Memramcook! This is the next tens (ex:50). Add 3. Once filled up, we continue on to our destination... Sackville. How many tens do we need to get from 5 tens (Memramcook) to 10 tens (Sackville)? 5 tens. Now add together.... 57.
Some students were ready for what makes __00 so they are working on this. We now have to stop in Dieppe and then Memramcook for gas. Dieppe is the nearest tens and Memramcook is the nearest hundred and then Sackville is still our last destination.
Ordonne les nombres (mille):
This is done with the dice I sent home up to the thousands. They are to roll these dice 3 times and write down all 3 numbers. Next they place numbers in order from either biggest to smallest or smallest to biggest.
